"everything you need..."

 I recently received a card from a friend-- cheering me into my upcoming marathon this weekend-- that included some words of encouragement in the form of a quote that I found rather poignant:

"Everything you need is already inside." -- Bill Bowerman, U of O track and field coach and co-founder of Nike.

True, true and I certainly hope so... except for one fatal flaw which is this:  the items pictured above are not already inside, and must be purchased at the store and consumed in the hotel room prior to and/or after the endurance event.
