today's takings from the back yard...
Russian Red Kale
Winter Kale
Broccoli
Zucchini
Carrots
Haricots Verts
and also Lavender, Poppies, Nasturtiums and ornamental Grasses...
Potatoes
Thyme
and more Zucchini...
I am happy to be burdened with zucchini, such that I have ample stock for zucchini bread, just like mom used to make... soft and sweet, extra awesome with big slabs of butter and morning coffee....
which was breakfast today, straight from the garden to the oven to my stomach (via my mouth).
and why stop at breakfast? it's sunday, so I have all the time I need to make food and photograph it too.... for lunch: Nellyda's garden curry noodle soup with shaved carrots and fresh basil, made with love, with all of the above veggies from my little back yard mini-farm.
(tofu, fresh ginger, rice noodles and fish sauce not grown in San Francisco)
p.s... concept of photographing my own meals stolen directly from Liz at Foraging Here. they say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
