pizza, the universal language
heading south from san francisco on friday, i opted out of pacifica (hundreds of neoprene-clad heads in the water) and instead chose north santa cruz county, a place close to ano nuevo state reserve-- yet another shark infested surf location. found small, glassy, empty waves... surfed here in preparation for a serious pizza feed...
arriving at search ranch is always a homecoming. short of living here (which i hope to do one day) i feel more at home here than in any other place i've been. quells the homesickness (i've been missing oregon lately).
blake and jim built this adobe pizza oven in the front yard.
this is the kitchen line up: all of the zucchini, eggplant, peppers, basil.... straight from the garden.
first pizza... ready for take off
ready to be devoured by the hordes.
i think we made about 40 pizzas on saturday night before the dance floor got into full swing and the pizza oven finally cooled down.
